Biagio's Information

I dropped into Biagio's the other day, and it’s certainly one of those local spots that sticks with you long after you’ve left Main Avenue in Stirling. From the moment you walk in, there’s a warmth to the place - part classic Italian bakery counter filled with fresh bread, pastries, and sandwiches, part cozy eat‑in restaurant where folks settle in for lunch or dinner with a glass of wine or a strong espresso. The smell of freshly baked ciabatta and sweet sfogliatelle wafts through the air, and locals chatting about their day only adds to that homey neighborhood feel.

The menu here is delightfully varied, offering everything from hearty breakfast sandwiches on artisanal rolls and omelets to substantial Italian classics like braised short ribs over pasta and seafood fra diavolo that diners often rave about online. Lunch options range from beautifully balanced cold Italian sandwiches to salads that feel like a meal in themselves, while the dinner offerings lean into rich flavors and thoughtful pairings you’d expect from a place that’s been fine‑tuning its craft for years. What struck me most was the seamless blend of a bakery’s casual charm with a restaurant’s dinner‑worthy dishes - one minute you’re picking up a rainbow cookie cake for the road, the next you’re digging into succulent pork shank with a glass of wine.

Service at Biagio’s feels sincere and personal, the kind where regulars call ahead for their favorite sandwiches and newcomers are encouraged to ask questions about daily specials. Some reviews online mention lively weekend crowds and a buzz in the dining area, which makes sense once you’ve seen the place humming with activity; it’s ideal for catching up with friends or lingering over an afternoon dessert. The location itself is easy to find right in the heart of Stirling, and whether you’re grabbing a morning espresso and pastry or sitting down for a relaxed dinner, the atmosphere invites you to slow down and enjoy each bite.

Personally, I’d circle back just for the fresh‑baked bread alone, but the full meal experience - thoughtful combinations, down‑to‑earth service, and that unmistakable Italian flair - really makes this a place worth talking about.

What People's Say About Place

Place has been highly recommended for years and yesterday was the day. An unassuming place tucked away in Sterling, NJ. Was there mid morning, so decided on a Taylor Ham, Eggs and Cheese sandwich, which turned into a difficult process trying to place an order for some reason. In the end, the order was correct, but a challenge to place. That was the only small thing, because they delivered on high level with the order. The Breakfast sandwich was good. Definitely prepared differently than rest of thr state with the Taylor ham on one side and egg on the other. The stromboli was legit. The weight of it alone was one the best. The Star of the show, was the Jelly donut which moves into my #1 spot for NJ Donut on Scary Good Eats. So good. Packed with Jelly on every bite and the texture of the donut was outstanding. What a hidden gem. Worth taking the ride for the Donuts alone. I know they have more to offer with their menu and I look forward to partaking in some other items. The Jelly Donut champ is here. Can't wait to go back.

We had an excellent experience at Biagio’s. These folks know how to run a good restaurant, it is a special place and somewhat of a hidden gem. Experience - the experience is very good. The location is easy, we like that you can park in front. The atmosphere is nice. Service - the service is also very good. Food - All of the food is absolutely outstanding, including the specials. So, overall, the value is very good. We like that it is BYO.

This is an amazing place that truly has it all—bakery, deli, and dinner all in one spot! My top recommendation from the restaurant is the Osso Buco. It’s absolutely incredible! The flavors are rich and perfectly balanced, and the portion size is generous. For those with a sweet tooth, their dessert selection is fantastic, offering a wide variety of delicious options. Definitely a must-visit!

Googled Biagio’s randomly on my way back from work and found a very hospitable, cozy place. Great service and pleasant conversation. The pastries are terrific and the sourdough bread was delicious too. Will definitely drop by in the future.

Old school, remains old school….. Thank god!!! The bread is the real deal…. Crunchy, texture and taste…. But the donuts are to die for the custard ones are spectacular and the jelly ones are sinful… A must stop by is an order…. Totally delicious

I always have a great experience dining here. From the moment we walk in, the atmosphere is always warm and welcoming, with attentive staff who make us feel right at home. The food is always good and the service is excellent; our server checked in often without being intrusive, and everything arrived promptly.

Biagio’s is a hidden gem in Stirling. This deli and bakery owned and served my true Italians da Napoli is a must visit. You’re served by Biagio himself. I tried their Caprese sandwich and it transported me back to when I visited Italy con mio nonno. I will definitely be back.

We celebrated my dad’s birthday there yesterday. We loved the food. Serve was great. Thank you Biagio.
